Dear Casey-Westfield Community,
Per Governor Pritzker’s executive orders, all Illinois schools are closed through April 30, 2020. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult time. We recognize the hardship school closure poses for our students and families. The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) and C-W Schools share three goals:
1. Ensure all students are safe and healthy.
2. Ensure all students’ nutritional needs are met.
3. Ensure all students have access to remote instruction through whatever means possible.
The purpose of this letter is to inform you how Casey-Westfield CUSD #C-4 is working to meet these goals. All Illinois schools have been directed by the ISBE to implement E-Learning or Remote Learning Plans. On March 18, the first day of the school closure, Casey-Westfield CUSD #C-4 implemented its E-Learning Plan and Free Meals Program. Both of those programs have and will continue throughout the duration of the school closure to keep our students learning and nourished. Staff are available through email or by calling the schools should any additional needs arise.
Both the E-Learning Plan and Free Meals Program are constantly monitored to ensure student needs are met. Please visit the district website at www.caseywestfield.org and click on “Covid-19 Closure” for up to date information on both of these programs. It is not possible at this time to predict how long schools will be closed in Illinois, but we stand ready to continue to support our students and families throughout the entirety of the closure.
Dee A. Scott, Superintendent of Schools
