Report Card

Casey-Westfield schools boast significant gains in the 2025 Illinois Report Card, a detailed look at student performance data from the 2024-25 school year.

These gains reflect the district’s investments in core areas such as math, science, and reading; as well as in college and career readiness. The academic growth of students at Monroe Elementary and CWHS outpaced the state average in both reading and math. Moreover, CWHS received recognition in additional indicators such as having a 98.2% graduation rate, a 9th grade on track rating of 100%, and having a total of 86 Career and Technical Education Concentrators, among many others.

One important component of the School Report Card is the annual summative designation. Illinois is required by federal accountability law to assign each school a descriptor of how well it is meeting the needs of its students. This designation is based on several indicators of academic performance, including those listed above.

This year, Monroe Elementary once again received a designation of “Commendable”. The “Commendable” designation is awarded to schools and districts that demonstrate strong academic performance, growth for all student groups, and positive trends in key indicators. It underscores our commitment to fostering an inclusive and high-achieving learning environment.

Casey-Westfield Jr/Sr HS earned a designation of “Exemplary”. To earn an “Exemplary” rating, schools must have an overall performance in the top 10% of all schools in Illinois; Must have no underperforming student groups at or below the “all students” group of the lowest-performing 5 percent of schools; High schools must have a graduation rate higher than 67 percent.

Student achievement at such a high level does not happen by accident. It is the result of the hard work of our students, and the support and dedication of our administrators, faculty & staff, parents, and community.

On behalf of the Board of Education, and Myself, “Congratulations and Thank you”.

To ensure similar success in the future, we will continue our ongoing commitment to:

o Support every student individually;

o Cultivate a positive school culture;

o Provide high quality instruction;

o Maintain a focus on math and reading within our core curriculum;

o Promote student safety, belonging, and participation;

o Partner with families and the wider community to support student success

Sincerely,

Mike Shackelford, Superintendent
