The Casey-Westfield Warriors golf team wrapped up another strong season this fall, showing once again why they remain one of the tougher Class 1A programs in the area.

From early August battles through the October IHSA postseason, the Warriors stayed remarkably consistent across their Little Illini Conference schedule. Their recipe for success was simple, balance. Rather than relying on a single blowout round to carry the team, the CW golf team regularly put four solid cards in the clubhouse to pull away in matches.

When playoff play arrived, that team balance became their biggest advantage. Upperclassmen delivered low rounds when the pressure was highest, while underclassmen stepped up to turn in the vital third and fourth scores that often decided tight matches against regional competition. Thus seeing the Warriors take 3rd in Sectionals and securing a place in the 1A State Tournament.

In state competition the Warriors capped their season with a 9th-place finish, coming agonizingly close to the cut line by just four shots. While the team competition ended, individual play saw Kian Garver lead the way with a tie for 44th, as Tyler Volk and Ryan Hosfield finished right behind in a tie for 54th.

Head coach Landry Huisinga credited the senior leadership with driving the program to these heights. "The senior class had a clear goal three years ago to play in the state tournament as a team," Huisinga said. "Through tireless work and persistence, they were able to accomplish that goal. We think that they’ve set the foundation and standard for future Warrior golf postseason success." In doing so, Huisinga’s squad leaves behind a clear blueprint for next year's roster—a program built on course management, composure under pressure, and the depth to contend every time they step onto the tee.
