🦇💛 This week in Zone Room, we learned how bats can teach us about handling big feelings!
Just like bats use echolocation, our students are using calm-down tools to guide them through tough moments. 🌟
💛 Our bat craft shows how our coping strategies can help us “fly” through big feelings—and decorated our Halloween-themed door for Family Reading Night!

Miss Gallagher's kindergarten class had a fun time learning all about apples today!
They tasted different kinds of apples with a variety of toppings, made apple volcanoes, tried "apple pie in a cup", and created their own apple trees by stamping halved apples into paint!

This week the 3rd graders worked collaboratively to construct an edible cookie color wheel. Using the three primary colors of icing, they mixed together the remaining nine colors of the wheel. Of course, this quickly became a favorite lesson for all!

✨ This student is using AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) to make requests while building and practicing speech skills. Every voice matters!”

Mrs. Robinson's kindergarten class learned all about apples with fun apple centers. They were able to taste different apples, made apple volcanoes, had apple pie in a cup, labeled the parts of an apple, and tested whether they would sink or float.

C-W Homecoming is right around the corner. Next week is all about spirit! Raid the closet and get those outfits ready!

✨🍎 Building speech skills one dot at a time! Our students are practicing their sounds while having fun with hands-on activities. Speech and language learning is sweet as an apple! 🍏🗣️

In Zone Room sessions last week, our younger students read The Road to Sorry by Mandy Sweetwater. This beautiful story reminded us that saying “sorry” isn’t just about words—it’s about taking responsibility, showing kindness, and making things right. 💛
Our older students took it a step further by discussing what makes an apology truly meaningful. Together, we practiced the 4 Steps to a Good Apology:
1️⃣ Say what you’re sorry for (be specific)
2️⃣ Show you care about the other person’s feelings
3️⃣ Ask how to make it right
4️⃣ Try to do better next time
It was a great reminder for all of us that mistakes can be opportunities to grow, repair relationships, and choose a better path forward.
