Mrs. Sackrider's kindergarten class celebrated St. Patrick's day with a fun afternoon of pop art, graphing lucky charm marshmallows, making a fruit loop rainbow, leprechaun pie, using fine motor skills to make a shamrock mosaic. After all the fun, Mrs. Sackrider made all of her students leprechaun slime complete with gold glitter.

When a local business owner asks you to help create a beautiful spring display on their walls- my students deliver! I can't wait to see these organic flowers, leaves, and creativity jazz up downtown Casey!

Strong Girls forms will be due next Wednesday March 19th in order to finalize numbers❗❗ If you have not received a form or need a new copy, there will be some available at Parent/Teacher Conferences or send an email to bethany.littlejohn@caseywestfield.org.

Monroe is so thankful to live in a small community, where local businesses are willing to partner in our student's education!
We want to THANK our local Casey McDonald's for supplying 18 Happy Meal coupons to be awarded to students who were participating in an educational incentive. When you shop & dine locally, you are able to support our community businesses, which in turn help support our school & students.
Thank you again, McDonald's!

Sixth grade students created weather maps and gave their forecasts like meteorologists.

Mrs Sackrider's kindergarten class started their morning off right with Mrs. Athey and senior Allyson Truelove making the students green eggs and ham for Dr. Seuss week.

My 5th grade students are sewing again! They nailed these stuffed monsters! Don't you agree? The creativity and craftsmanship for this project was some of the best this school year!

Our school is currently reading more than ever during our Read-A-Thon. We want to make this the most successful Read-A-Thon, but can't do it without your support. Mrs. Sackrider's kindergarten class doubled up on math today. When using fun and cute little erasers, working on teen numbers isn't so bad. After doing a great job on teen numbers and in honor of the Dr. Seuss book One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish, we pulled out some colorful Swedish fish and graphed them.

This last week in the Zone Room we have been talking about Empathy (the action of understanding, being aware of, being sensitive to, and experiencing the feelings, thoughts, and experience of another person)
We read the book "Stand in my Shoes" by Bob Sornson and then the students were able to participate in an activity where they shared what they would want others to know about them "if someone were to stand in their shoes..."

Friendly reminder that tonight Monroe will host "Mad Science" Family Reading Night!
We are excited to host the Mad Science St. Louis company for a couple of our activities! Come join us!
Don't forget to log those minutes read for Read-A-Thon!!!

"Read Across America Week" is off to a great start! Students and staff dressed as one of their favorite characters from a Dr. Seuss book.

This year's Read-A-Thon just got a lot more exciting! 📚

Call us crazy, but today we attempted kiln fire clay with kinders! They blew us away! We pounded, rolled, traced, and sculpted butterfly designs. I cant wait to share the finished products!
