High School Cross Country competed at the Olney Invitational last Saturday. It was another HOT one. They moved the races up to be earlier but it was still warm. Everyone did a great job! Rylie Large received a medal for finishing 29th with a time of 19:01.

7th grade science class began a microscope lab today. They learned microscope parts and the basic use today. They will continue during the next couple of classes practicing their skills by looking at different materials and organisms.

Fall Rotary Athletic Heart Screening Program
The 2026 Fall Rotary Heart Screening program will be Saturday, November 7, 2026 starting at 8 a.m. in the Heart Center at Sarah Bush Lincoln. In an effort to make this valuable screening available to all high school athletes who are between 15-17 years of age (at the time of the screening), we are simplifying the distribution and collection process of the screening forms and we need your help!
The registration forms along with the parent letter are attached to this email. Please make a copy of the packet for each eligible high school athlete (must be between 15-17 years of age at time of the screening) in your school and ask your head coaches to encourage parents to mail forms back to SBL at:

High School Cross Country ran one of the toughest courses around at the Shelbyville Invitational on Saturday. They all did great with a PR and season bests! Rylie Large, Kaleb Perie, and Amelia Washburn all had season bests. Addi Harris had a PR. Rylie had an impressive time of 18:38.

Junior High Cross Country ran at the Shelbyville Invitational on Friday. It is known for being one of the toughest courses around but they all did a great job! Harper Littlejohn had a PR and placed 10th. Other runners with a PR for the day were Lauren Goble, Ada Todd, Ryder Rhoads, and Greyson Robinson. Season bests for the day were Callie Wolfe and Cyrus Large.

Junior High Cross Country ran in the Bullpup Pride Invitational at St. Anthony on Tuesday. We had 3 who received medals. Harper Littlejohn with 9th place, Emmy Kusterman with 18th place and a PR, and Garrick Boyd with 18th place and a season best. A shoutout also to Addy Cox and Greyson Robinson for PRs and Callie Wolfe for a season best. Everyone did a great job on a very warm day.

High School Cross Country ran in the Charleston Invitational at EIU on Saturday, September 5th. It was a super hot one! I was so proud of everyone's effort, when even the spectators were struggling. Great job everyone!

7th graders participated in their first science lab of the school year. They followed the steps of the scientific method to explore mixing red cabbage juice with different common chemicals. They were looking for color changes to write down their results in their data table and answer questions.
