Casey-Westfield Junior/Senior High School is seeking a HS Girls Volleyball Head Coach for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year.

Season Details:
Summer Contact Days: Up to 20 days (may begin after May 27).
Official Practices: Begin August 10.
First Game: August 24.
Season Conclusion: November 14 (State Series).

Compensation: The stipend for this position is 15% of the first-year base salary, as per the PN agreement. Please see the link below.

Attention all incoming 8th -11th graders who are interested in trying out for the 2026-2027 CWHS Cheerleading Squad!! Tryout paperwork is in the office. Please fill it out and bring it with you on the day of the clinic. One tryout will be held for football, basketball, or both. The clinic and tryouts will be held at Monroe Elementary School. 7th Graders began their animal unit. They completed a worm lab studying worm anatomy and their response to stimulus.

7th Graders have had a busy week doing activities with our Energy in Ecosystems Unit. We went outside on one of the nice days to play a predator-prey freeze tag game. Some students were the elks, which were the prey. Other students were wolves, which were the predators. From our findings we discussed things like carrying capacity, limiting factors, biotic factors, and abiotic factors. They then learned how to complete a double line graph and interpret the data. We also completed a Bald Eagle Mystery. Students studied clues about DDT, surface runoff, broken egg shells, and biomagnification to determine why Bald Eagles almost went extinct. Then we watched the live camera feed of the Bald Eagle pair of Jackie and Shadow. We talked about the anticipation and significance waiting for their eaglets to hatch.

The Lady Warriors Softball team will play Champaign Centennial at home today with a 4:30 start time.

WE ARE HIRING: Head Varsity Basketball Coach

Casey-Westfield is looking for the next leader of the Warrior Boys Basketball program for the Winter 2026-2027 season. Casey-Westfield CUSD C-4 is seeking a dedicated, leadership-oriented individual to serve as the Head Coach for our High School Varsity Boys Basketball program. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall supervision and development of the basketball program (Grades 9-12), fostering a culture of sportsmanship, academic excellence, and competitive success.

Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of the Varsity program, including practice planning, game strategy, and player development.
Provide leadership and coordination for Junior Varsity and Freshman coaching staff to ensure program alignment.
Monitor student-athlete academic progress and enforce school athletic policies.
Organize and oversee off-season programs, including summer camps and open gyms.
Maintain effective communication with parents, school administration, and the community.

Qualifications:
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) preferred, or ASEP/NFHS coaching certification.
Prior coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level preferred.
Strong knowledge of IHSA rules and regulations.
Excellent organizational and motivational skills.

Chemistry I spent the last two class periods completing a single replacement lab. They mixed solutions with different metals to see if there was a reaction. Then for each reaction which occurred they practiced writing out their equations.

Chemistry II practiced their double replacement reactions this morning with a Double Replacement Reaction and Solubility Lab. We had a great time practicing lab safety while mixing chemicals to see the reactions.

With opening night of Footloose being a huge hit, its not to late to get your tickets for Friday night (7pm), Saturday matinee (2pm), Saturday night (7pm) or Sunday matinee (2pm).
