The Varsity Boys Basketball LIC Tournament game tomorrow at Olney vs Newton has been moved to 5pm due to potential incoming weather.
The Fresh Soph boys basketball game for tonight has been postponed. Mt. Carmel is not able to travel today because their varsity team plays in the LIC Tourney tonight. The Fresh Soph game will be played at 5pm on 2/3 prior to the JV and Varsity boys basketball games at Mt. Carmel.
High School Girl’s 🏀 - The Lady Warriors will play two games this week with one at home and one on the road. The girls will play at Mt. Carmel starting at 6pm on Monday night. The girls play again Thursday at home against Lawrenceville. The team is coming off a 7th place finish in the LIC Tournament last week.
High School Boys 🏀 - The Warriors will play in the Little Illini Conference tournament throughout the week. All games will be played at Richland County. The boys won their first round matchup against the #7 seed, Paris, and will play #3 seeded Newton on Tuesday at 7:30pm. See the LIC website for more info on when the rest of their tournament games are being played. The Fresh/Soph team has two games this week after taking last week off. They play Mt. Carmel at home on Monday and are on the road against Lawrenceville on Thursday.

HS Scholastic Bowl: The Warrior scholastic bowl team will start the week off in Palestine on Tuesday and then head to Robinson on Saturday for the Little Illini Conference Tournament. The first match of the tournament will start at 10am.
Junior High 🏐 - The girls will play three matches this week. On Monday they kick off their week in Effingham before traveling to Lawrenceville on Thursday. Friday the Lady Braves return home for a matchup against Robinson. All three matchups are slated to start at 4:30pm.
Junior High 🏀 - The Braves 8th grade team wrapped up their conference regular season championship last week with a win over Cumberland. They added another game against Charleston, the only blemish to their 20-1 record, this Thursday at 6pm. The 7th grade boys finished their season Saturday after falling to South Central 41-21 in the regional quarterfinal.

Congratulations to the 8th grade boys' basketball team who defeated Cumberland last night by a score of 36 - 29 to clinch the Little Eastern Illini Conference regular season title! The Braves moved to 22-1 on the season and play their final game at home next Thursday the 26th. This will be a rematch of their only loss, Charleston, which came back on the 5th of December. The team will then start their 2A regional tournament on the 31st as the #1 seed against the winner of Dietrich and South Central. The Braves regional semi-final game will be played at St. Anthony Middle School.
Junior High Scholastic Bowl Practices will start next Tuesday from 3:15 to 4:15 after school in room 101 at the High School. Practices will run each Tuesday at that time. If you are interested in participating in JH Scholastic Bowl this season please sign up in the High School Office.
Tonight's HS boys basketball game against Crab Orchard has been canceled.
Junior High and High School Intramurals will start on Monday January 23rd and will be held each Monday from 6 to 9 at Monroe. Cody Strange will be running our Intramural League again this year.

HS Boy's 🏀 - The Warriors take on Richland County at home on Tuesday with JV starting at 6pm and varsity to follow. The boys will kick off their Little Illini Conference Tournament on Saturday against #7 seeded Paris. The game will be played at Richland County starting at 4pm.
HS Girl's 🏀 - The Lady Warriors lost yesterday to Richland County in their first LIC tournament game by a score of 38 - 21. They will play Newton tomorrow, 1/16, at 7:30 pm. The girls will play again Wednesday for 5th place at 7:30 pm if they win on Monday or 6 pm for 7th place if they lose. Game scores for both girl's and boys high school basketball teams will be posted on the Casey-Westfield Instagram account @CWWarriors, throughout the week.
HS Scholastic Bowl 📝 - Scholastic Bowl will be on the road twice this week. Tuesday they travel to Robinson to face Lawrenceville, Robinson, and Martinsville. On Thursday the team travels to Martinsville to play Martinsville and Newton.
JH Boy's 🏀 - The junior high boy's basketball team will play at Lawrenceville on Monday at 6pm. They return home Tuesday to face Martinsville with tip-off at 6pm. On Thursday the boy's will travel to Cumberland for another 6pm start.
JH Volleyball 🏐 - Junior high volleyball will be on the road Tuesday to play Arcola. The 7th grade match will begin at 6pm. On Thursday the Lady Braves will return home for a match against Teutopolis at 4:30pm. The girls will finish off the week @ Martinsville on Friday

High School Boy's and Girl's Basketball Little Illini Conference Tournament Brackets
The girl's basketball LIC tournament is being played at Mt. Carmel High School this year from January 14th - 19th. The Lady Warriors come in as the #7 seed and will play #2 seeded Richland County on Saturday, January 14th at 3:30 pm.
The boy's tournament will be hosted by Richland County High School from January 21st - 27th. The #2 seeded Warriors first LIC tournament game will be played against #7 seeded Paris on Saturday, January 21st with tip-off at 4 pm.
HELP WANTED - One to One aide
Monroe Elementary School has an immediate opening for a one-to-one aide. Applicants must have a high school diploma. Preference will be given to applicants with two years of post-secondary study, Associates Degree, or have passed the Paraprofessional Test.
This position requires physical mobility and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Duties include assisting a student with basic and educational needs as directed by teachers/staff. Hours are 7:45 am - 3:15 pm on student attendance days per the District calendar. This is a 9 month position. The starting pay is $13.46/hour.

This week features two high school girls’ basketball games. On Monday, the girls take on Richland County at 6:30 pm at home before heading to Mount Carmel on Saturday, 1/14, for the Little Illini Conference Tournament. The Lady Warriors will take on Richland County again starting at 3:30 pm.
High School Boy’s Basketball plays one game this week as they travel to Marshall to take on the Lions. The JV game will begin at 6 pm with the varsity game to follow.
Junior High Volleyball kicks off their season with two games this week. First, they travel to Trinity Lutheran on Monday for a 4:30 pm start before they come back for their home opener on Friday against St. Johns Lutheran at 4:30 pm.
The Junior High Boy’s Basketball teams notched two wins to start off their Little Eastern Illini Conference Tournament on Saturday with a win over Oblong for 8th grade and Marshall for 7th. The seventh-grade team will play on Monday at 6 pm versus Jasper County with the eighth graders playing Tuesday at 6 pm against Lawrenceville. This Saturday the boys will be back on the road, this time against Effingham.
