Join us again this school year for the After School Care program! ASC offers an affordable childcare option for students that attend Monroe Elementary, from school dismissal to 5:30pm, Monday-Friday. See below for other important information!
~Cost: $5.00 per day/per child in attendance
~ASC in session on all regular student attendance days
~ ASC is not offered on early dismissal days, holiday breaks, and emergency closures
~4:00pm snack offered daily
~Outdoor play - weather permitting
~Homework assistance
Please plan to register your child during the Monroe Open House, Thursday, August 14th, or pick up a packet in the school office at your convenience.
Scheduling calendars are sent home with registered students at the beginning of each month.

Online registration for K-12 students is now open! Simply log in to the TeacherEase App and follow the prompt to begin. Registration closes on August 8th.

First Graders celebrated BRAVE behavior by having a Camping Theme afternoon. We took a hike to look for birds and gather sticks for our "firewood." We read books and worked with clipboards in our tents in the classroom. We ate lunch to the sound of crickets on our Promethean board. Mrs. Davis' class even ate S'mores for a snack if we reached our AR goal for the 4th quarter. They kept saying that it was "The BEST day EVER!!"
We had a fun "pool" party as a reward for 4th quarter here at Monroe! #bringonsummer #funatmonroe
First Grade went to the Petting Zoo today. We saw goats, a donkey, a Mallard duck, sleepy pigs, and a big fluffy rabbit. Mrs. Davis' Class liked them all especially the turtles. Thank you CW FFA for putting this on every year!!
Fifth Grade Social Studies students made some amazing covered wagons to finish our study of westward expansion in Ms. Roseberry's classes.
A big thank you goes out to Casey State Bank for sponsoring our participation in the Banzai Financial Literacy Program. I would also like to thank Bolin's and Amy Gray for speaking with our 5th Grade students about the importance of making wise money decisions!
Mrs. Perie's 4th graders did an Ocean Animal Project recently. They researched and wrote about their animal. Then they made a poster about their animal and presented it to the class. Check out their awesome work!

Sixth grade students are learning about the Middle Ages in Social Studies. They had to build a castle and defend it against marshmallow catapults. They also created a heraldric flag for their castle.
Students learned about Greek Mythology in our Ancient Greece unit. Then, they had to create an ad that used a character from Greek Mythology to sell a project. Their ideas were so clever!
Early dismissal tomorrow (an hour early) and no school the 16th through the 21st. Have a great break.
On Wednesday, the Strong Girls talked about self esteem/self confidence and then had some fun getting active. We played rock, paper, scissors tag. The girls had a lot of fun with it!
National Assistant Principals Week, April 7–11, 2025, is a celebration of the unsung heroes in our education system. These dedicated folks work tirelessly to bolster teachers, motivate students, support their principal, create a positive learning community, and face the many unpredictable challenges that land on their desk.
Mrs. Perie’s 4th grade class read about the Mariana Trench in ELA and talked about how the Earth's plates moved to create the trench. Today, we used Oreo cookies to represent 3 ways tectonic plates can move and had a yummy snack!
