Sixth grade students are learning about the Middle Ages in Social Studies. They had to build a castle and defend it against marshmallow catapults. They also created a heraldric flag for their castle.
Students learned about Greek Mythology in our Ancient Greece unit. Then, they had to create an ad that used a character from Greek Mythology to sell a project. Their ideas were so clever!

On Wednesday, the Strong Girls talked about self esteem/self confidence and then had some fun getting active. We played rock, paper, scissors tag. The girls had a lot of fun with it!

Mrs. Perie’s 4th grade class read about the Mariana Trench in ELA and talked about how the Earth's plates moved to create the trench. Today, we used Oreo cookies to represent 3 ways tectonic plates can move and had a yummy snack!

5th Graders worked together in Social Studies class to research different modes of transportation and communication that were developed as our country expanded to the west. Once they completed their research, they made posters and gave group presentations. Pictured are a few of the groups!
IAR testing is almost complete, and our students are showing incredible focus! 🎉 A little daily motivation comes in the form of a well-deserved treat after each testing session. Keep up the great work!
Fourth grade was buzzing today! David and Lisa Dhom came and taught us all about bees. We even got to taste honey. We had un-bee-lievable time!

In Mrs. Perie's 4th grade, we learned about decomposers and compost bins. Then, we made our own edible compost bins using some yummy snack foods. We completed them with a gummy worm.
Sixth grade students presented their first research project in Social Studies. They had to write research questions on their chosen topic about Ancient Egypt. Then, they used a book and internet source to take notes. Finally, they organized their notes and wrote a speech. Here are some of their very creative visual aids.

First Grade celebrated the 120th day of school. Mrs. Davis' Class made 120 Fruit Loop Necklaces, ate 120 trail mix, looked for Hershey Kisses with the 120 numbers on them, and made a 120 Number book. It was a fun day!!
